Karl Lagerfeld x Steiff

August 25th, 2008 by Tee

karl lagerfeld x steiff

Since we are on the topic of toys….
Let’s take a moment to give Unkie Karl a moment to shine - as he always does!
Being the epitome of all things narcissistic , you already know that Mr Lagerfeld can’t step away from creating images of himself. Even if it comes in a form of a teddy bear….and while we would love to hate on Unkie Karl - we cant! As the godfather of all things glam, Lagerfeld has teamed up with the famous toy brand Margarete Steiff to produce the first ever “couture” teddy bear. So if you are in dire need to have something that reminds you of Unkie Karl’s undeniably stern mug on something plush & fuzzy…then I’d like to recommend that you put some of that “stash cash” aside for this teddy bear! Because you know damn well it won’t be cheap!

The ‘My Little Pony’ Project

August 24th, 2008 by Tee

Oh My Goodness…
Don’t you remember the days of “My Little Pony”…the cartoon & action figures? I am totally an “80’s baby” always on the mission to go back into my warped time machine. For 25 years Hasbro’s beloved colorful ponies have been captivating the hearts of millions of little girls from around the world. In honor of this remarkable milestone, Hasbro is sponsoring the “My Little Pony Project”, where twenty-five 18″ inch My Little Pony figurines are designed by the world most influential people & organizations. The program was created to support a charitable cause called Give Kids The World Village, a non-profit organization that strives to provide magical memories for children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses.

International celebrities, artists, & fashion designers have been all called upon to design “one-of-a-kind” My Little Pony figurines. In September all 25 My Little Pony figurines will be unveiled in Manhattan , and will also be available for auction, with a portion of the proceeds going to Give Kids The World Village. Artists included in this event are; Claw Money, Toki Doki, Tado, Junko Mizuno, Jon Burgerman, Catalina Estrada, 123 Klan, LeAnn Rimes, Debbie Gibson, & More.

Vertu Rococo Constellation Collection

August 22nd, 2008 by Tee

Vertu

While everyone finds themselves in the flurry of iPhones & Blackberry phones…
You tend to forget that there are indeed tons of luxury goods and the market…and some way some how - well….you never really quite hear about particular brands unless you are a luxury junkie! Now Vertu phones set the standard on all things luxurious! Just imagine owning a cellphone laced in all things exotic…what would you do? Admire it from afar….or if given the funds - would you buy it? Well while you wait - let me tell you that I am a tad bit curious to see a Vertu phone up close and personal. Seeing as though my fascination with this phone has resurfaced itself for the second time around. The newest models come from the new Rococo Constellation collection - which features four different colorways of exotic leathers. But wait! The flossy-flossy doesn’t stop there…..The Vertu Rococo Sapphire phone contains 9 glistening blue sapphires! Yes…you’ve read right! SAPPHIRES! The collection in itself is interesting as each phone is built strictly for hedge fund candidates.

RubberDuck SnowJoggers

August 22nd, 2008 by Tee

I just want the fall to come already! Where I can put my hoodie on - shut out the madness that I love to call NYC. Seriously….my mood is swiftly moving into a colder direction and it’s really about that time I put my summer clothes away! Just to make more room for boots - especially when they are lusciously candy-coated. I sat down and watched Napoleon Dynamite on repeat yesterday, only to say to myself “Damn I love his boots”…I kid you not! I am the biggest dork….and while I am ‘fashionably thirsty’ at all times…I am always on the hunt for the next best thing!

Rubber Duck has been a brand that has been respected in the industry and was created by brainchild Eik Braun Ottonsen, who found inspiration in his girlfriends closet. Since then the Rubber Duck brand has been pumping out a cool collection of boots that are definitely eye-catching & adorable for any age. Coming in a variety of colors you’ll find yourself in a stir trying to make up your mind on which boot to try on first….trust me - I’m already there!

Juno Cheeseburger Phone

August 20th, 2008 by Tee

Last year everyone went bonkers over the hit move Juno
And while I really didn’t understand the hype behind the movie…and come to terms with teenage pregnancy - seeing as though it’s as common as gum under a desk! So, I bypass on the movie & scrolled through Fred Flare only to find one of my two favorite combination! A cheeseburger plus a telephone…..what better combination? Right? Ok…well if you aren’t one for fast food! Be moved by my fast talk, and walk with me on this one! As I prepare to help my younger sister get ready for college - I find myself thinking about good gifts for her to take upstate. And while I run around trying to pace myself, I feel that I’ve found something cute enough, to remind her of what she will be missing while she leaves New York. Then again….she might leave it in the box to collect dust! Either way….this Juno Hamburger Phone is an adorable novelty piece for anyone of any age.

Tretorn ‘Skerry’ Boots

August 20th, 2008 by Tee

While bopping to the ill tunes of ‘Jockin’ Jay-Z‘….
I realized that it’s really about that time to replace my rain boots! I’ve said this time and time before - but please be clear…it’s really hard to replace things that you’ve grown so accustom to having in your closet. So naturally I think about copping a pair of Burberry wellies…with the hopes of really setting the standard on the streets. And while I like to remain number one on my “ghetto chic” ensembles - there are times when I would like to be noticed just by my love of everything simple & clean. Tretorn remains to be one of my favorite brands by bringing fourth this motif to light on every end of the spectrum. If you recall I’ve spoken about Tretorn sneakers and have been asked numerous questions regarding the brand.

And while my answer sare brief & straight to the point - I remind those who are on the curious side of things - that Tretorn is really worth paying attention to. Especially, when they crank out luscious rainboots such as their trademark Skerry boots. Originally designed for sailing, these boots are perfect for trekking around Manhattan and back - while the wild rain kicks up along the pavement. These playful rubber boots are only $55 and are unisex & come in a variety of colorways….which is absolutely perfect for anyone ready to try something different.
