Topshop x J Brand Set To Drop Nov.30th

August 27th, 2008 by Tee

Topshop is really stepping up to the plate this year….
Thus bringing more designers & brands to help fuse the constant buzz generating around the Topshop brand. This November ‘denim-die hard’ junkies can look forward to an interesting addition to the Topshop lineup, and New York’s own J Brand will be next up on the roster.

J Brand’s Jeff Rudes On The Topshop x J Brand collaboration:

“There is nothing more American than a great pair of Jeans, We believe Topshop customers will appreciate the detail and workmanship in our line and feel good about wearing a genuine piece of Americana.” - via Vogue UK

Keeping in true J Brand theme, the collection will feature three low-rise styles and have been named afer New York neighborhoods that all exemplify the styles of the women who wear them. So for the mantra remains the same…..”Skinny jeans are always in”, as the Topshop x J Brand collection features an ultimate super-skinny jean with a narrow 12″ inch pencil leg - dubbed The Brooklyn. The ‘Nolita’ jean will follow suit, as it comes in a classic cigarette style cut and a 14″ inch leg, right behind the Nolita comes the ‘Manhattan’ which is a slimming fitted jean with a 22″ inch bell-bottom jean….not bad huh? The New York theme collection will come in four different washes, and will also feature vintage & distressed pieces with names such as ‘Bowery’ & ‘Empire’. The Topshop x J Brand collection will be available for only a limited time and is set to drop November 30th. Vogue UK reports that the price on these jeans are already set at £89…convert that to US Dollars that will be around $164.

That is pretty pricey for a pair of jeans in collaboration with Topshop - don’t you agree? Wouldn’t you just rather purchase the jeans directly from J Brand? Either way I am pretty interested in seeing how the collaboration works out. So be on the looking out coming this November!

Moncler Women

Good GAWD the winter is coming….
I just woke myself up out of a vivid dream of chasing cats! Please don’t ask me why….but it really wasn’t the dream that woke me up. It was more of the cool air that crept through the windows of my apartment that woke me up. Just to remind me that it’s really about that time to get myself together. And as a steady reminder…after plucking cat hair off of my face…thanks to my miniature zoo, I wandered into my closet while taking a serious drag from my Capri cigarette only to say “DAMN I NEED A NEW WINTER COAT”. Naturally, I ward off all of the ‘fussy-fussy’ brands….and zero back to one of my personal favorites - Moncler! Ok so you are probably sitting their with a blank stare…thinking that I am crazy! But I see it like this…..a winter coat is seriously an investment worth splurging on. And YES, you can go with famous North Face…but why not take a step deeper into the other world of fashion…shall we? Alrighty then….so tighten up your bra strap - and lean to the left a little….just for a moment & think about the fashionable & yet infinite possibilities of possibly owning a Moncler coat. Coming in very feminine colors & styles…you definitely can’t go wrong! Trust me….you will thank me later.

So take a look at the 7 PAGES of the Moncler Women’s 2008/09 collection after the jump….

Nicole Miller Prepares To Launch Daytime Dresses

August 26th, 2008 by Tee

You’ve got to give it to Nicole Miller - she is one designer who always keeps her irons on an open flame - AT ALL TIMES! Miller is preparing to launch a collection of daytime dresses under the Nicole Miller Studio One Label.

Miller states to WWD:
“There is a lot more embellishment because daytime dresses can get a little plain. There are also a lot of prints and solids. This won’t be minimalist,” she said of her latest contribution to bridge. “It has a very modern and young attitude.”

There will be an extension of sportswear by the same name which is set to debut for fall of 2009. The Nicole Miller Studio One dresses collection will have special treatments such as embroidery or embellishment. The collection will debut starting next month at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and a serious of specialty stores & boutiques. Approximately 20-24 styles will be shipped to designated stores each month - which will include pieces such as silk jersey dresses, sheaths with border prints up for grabs. Slip-Offs | Custom Designed Slip-Ons

Slip-Offs

You guys already know that I have a thing for art! I don’t care if it’s plastered all over solid brick or even a pair of canvas Keds…art definitely makes the world go round - along with putting a smile on someone’s face. Shauna Luedtke was sick and tired the same boring kicks everyone else donned….and has decided to take her incredibly gifted talent to the canvas…literally! The idea of Slip-Offs came in to effect thanks to her boyfriend who asked Luedtke to customize a pair of his Vans Slip-On kicks, little did she realize that a small idea could turn itself into a serious money making machine. Sneaker Freaker has got the down-low scoop about the woman behind the Slip-Offs epidemic that is sweeping the country….it even got a serious hold on Ellen DeGeneres.

Beyoncé Does The Bling Thing

August 25th, 2008 by Tee

Alright now….
Mrs. Carter aka Beyoncé is stepping into the realm of accessories. Beyoncé along with her mother Tina Knowles will be expanding their two-year old Deréon junior collection, by adding a fashion jewelry collection into the mix, dubbed Deréon Jewelry…..and in the famous words of my favorite fictional character Miranda Priestly [played by Meryl Streep] - GROUNDBREAKING! Ugh….I don’t know about you - but if you live in NYC and have actually seen the Deréon collection found via Macy’s Herald Square, you would know that Beyoncé’s collection is usually seen on the floor collecting dust or floating some where behind the clearance racks. Or better yet on sale at local thrift shops for $5 bucks…..yeah I am really not kidding.

Tina Knowles tells WWD:

“I love accessories and we’ve always used a lot of accessories, so it was a natural thing for us to do,” said Tina Knowles, creative director. “For the first collection, I wanted to do a lot of things taken from the street. One of the things I love to do is walk on the streets of New York or Brooklyn and see what the kids are doing, and that goes with our mantra — catwalk meets sidewalk. I saw a lot of filled hoops and charm bracelets, that’s what the kids are wearing these days.”

But did Ms. Tina fail to realize that many ‘kids’ purchase accessories off of street vendors of half of the price? UGH…sorry ladies - I am NOT the least bit impressed with the Deréon line…and really could care less to see this collection “live & direct” at a local department store. So far the images remind me of cheap knick-knacks that can be found straight out of a bubblegum machine.

A Closer Look At The Newly Renovated Colette Store

August 25th, 2008 by Tee

Colette finally opened their curtains today…
The newly revamped interior gave way to eagerly wait Colette shoppers this morning, the month long project was conceived by Japanese Interior designer Masamichi Katayama also known as Wonderwall. Colette’s new setting centers around graphic interplay of white walls, steel, glass & sensual black leather merchandising displays & tables. Sara Lerefel [Colette’s artistic director] tells WWD - that she sees it [the renovation] more as a facelift rather than a radical departure from Colette’s original look.

And while many of us who reside in NYC loath that fact that we can’t bask in the glory of the newly revamped Colette store…..we can only gawk & drool at the images to come.
