Nike’s New U.S. Open Dresses - Now Available

September 3rd, 2008 by Tee

The US Open attracts a large number of tennis lovers every year to the heart of Queens NY. Whether it be homegrown New Yorkers or Hollywood’s finest…everyone falls victim to the lavish green court of the US Open. Nike athletes Maria Sharapova & Serena Williams have developed new fresh looks for this years U.S. Open. Sharapova’s “Day & Night” dresses feature key materials that we chosen for moisture management, comfort, and strength. The Sharapova U.S. Night Dress is made up of two layers, which feature a sleek & yet body forming lightweight jersey. Leaving the outer layer, permanently pleated and features a Dri-FIT premium lightweight jersey, allowing the dress to be fluid with controlled movement. Taking cues from the red carpet and the runway, Maria’s color palette for the night dress is black adorned with gold accents.

As for the Sharapova U.S. Day Dress, it provides world-class support with a bodice fitted top, black stretch velvet waist details, sheer conchord fabric overlay in the skirt to add depth and movement, and a black seamless short, letting female tennis athletes elevate their game without sacrificing freedom of movement or fashion. The Sharapova U.S. Day Dress is currently available for $95 and the U.S. Night Dress is also available for $110. Both of which can be found via Nikestore.com

As for my girl Serena Williams, her ensembles during the US Open are always a topic for discussion in my camp. Seeing as though Serena is a “show stopper” in every sense of the word her U.S. Open Collection is nothing to play games with! Especially the Serena Court Day Dress which is currently available for around $100, features the same Dri-Fit material and is perfect for any athlete.

Both looks can be found via Nikestore.com

Longchamp x Colette x Gap ‘Pliage’ Tote Bag

September 2nd, 2008 by Tee

Longchamp x Colette x Gap

Wow….August has finally said “hello & goodbye” - and as we ease on down the road into the month of September, we are reminded that this weekend is when things really get jumping. With Fashion week starting Friday, NYC is really going to be jam packed with onlookers & shoppers…..especially come this Saturday! Colette x Gap has New Yorkers [including myself] on edge for the new ‘pop-up’ Colette x Gap concept store. And while we all have been anticipating the Colette x Gap store opening - we can only linger on and gawk at the goodies that are about to hit store shelves. In true spirit, Longchamp has put their magic touch on the Colette x Gap project by adding their trademark “Pliage” tote bag into the mix - giving this tote bag the Gap’s famous grey jersey exterior. I really hope that the hype behind the Colette x Gap project is truly worth it, and we all know that pictures can tell us a thousand words….but what happens when you see things up close and personal? Let’s just hope all of these teasers has us forking over some cash on Saturday.

Dr. Martens | Red High-Heeled Boots

August 27th, 2008 by Tee

I am at a total lost for words right now….
I never thought that my love for Dr. Martens could get any more serious!
Could it be the 3″ inch wooden heel? Or perhaps the luscious unworn supple leather that has my eyes stuck right now? Or could it be the seductive round toe that answers my constant calling for the perfect city boot? I don’t know what the hell it is….but at the prior moment…I lost all sense of my priorities. I’m already having dreams of plaid ruffled skirts, deep black wool blend jackets, a set of brass knuckles….and a kick-ass dose of New York City style that may end up having me on the catwalks of New York City Fashion Week.

Topshop x J Brand Set To Drop Nov.30th

August 27th, 2008 by Tee

Topshop is really stepping up to the plate this year….
Thus bringing more designers & brands to help fuse the constant buzz generating around the Topshop brand. This November ‘denim-die hard’ junkies can look forward to an interesting addition to the Topshop lineup, and New York’s own J Brand will be next up on the roster.

J Brand’s Jeff Rudes On The Topshop x J Brand collaboration:

“There is nothing more American than a great pair of Jeans, We believe Topshop customers will appreciate the detail and workmanship in our line and feel good about wearing a genuine piece of Americana.” - via Vogue UK

Keeping in true J Brand theme, the collection will feature three low-rise styles and have been named afer New York neighborhoods that all exemplify the styles of the women who wear them. So for the mantra remains the same…..”Skinny jeans are always in”, as the Topshop x J Brand collection features an ultimate super-skinny jean with a narrow 12″ inch pencil leg - dubbed The Brooklyn. The ‘Nolita’ jean will follow suit, as it comes in a classic cigarette style cut and a 14″ inch leg, right behind the Nolita comes the ‘Manhattan’ which is a slimming fitted jean with a 22″ inch bell-bottom jean….not bad huh? The New York theme collection will come in four different washes, and will also feature vintage & distressed pieces with names such as ‘Bowery’ & ‘Empire’. The Topshop x J Brand collection will be available for only a limited time and is set to drop November 30th. Vogue UK reports that the price on these jeans are already set at £89…convert that to US Dollars that will be around $164.

That is pretty pricey for a pair of jeans in collaboration with Topshop - don’t you agree? Wouldn’t you just rather purchase the jeans directly from J Brand? Either way I am pretty interested in seeing how the collaboration works out. So be on the looking out coming this November!

Nicole Miller Prepares To Launch Daytime Dresses

August 26th, 2008 by Tee

You’ve got to give it to Nicole Miller - she is one designer who always keeps her irons on an open flame - AT ALL TIMES! Miller is preparing to launch a collection of daytime dresses under the Nicole Miller Studio One Label.

Miller states to WWD:
“There is a lot more embellishment because daytime dresses can get a little plain. There are also a lot of prints and solids. This won’t be minimalist,” she said of her latest contribution to bridge. “It has a very modern and young attitude.”

There will be an extension of sportswear by the same name which is set to debut for fall of 2009. The Nicole Miller Studio One dresses collection will have special treatments such as embroidery or embellishment. The collection will debut starting next month at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and a serious of specialty stores & boutiques. Approximately 20-24 styles will be shipped to designated stores each month - which will include pieces such as silk jersey dresses, sheaths with border prints up for grabs. Wholesale prices for these grabs are a bit high ranging from $110 to $345.

The ‘Back To School’ Tuesday Draft Pick…

August 19th, 2008 by Tee

Don’t you just love this time of the year?
Especially if you are a mother and have teenagers you already know that it’s about that time for BACK TO SCHOOL! And perhaps while they [the kids] are scrummaging around to look like the hottest thing since peanut butter & spam [I know bad combination] - you can find yourself standing low key in front of the newest selection of sneakers your hard earn cash has to offer. My personal favorite for the ‘Bella Teenie Bopper’ always has to be the Nike Air Max 90. I don’t know why….but there is something about this sneaker that just brings me back to the days of getting ready for school. You knew it was coming…and you knew damn well that you had to be the hottest one on the scene. Especially when it’s covered in Varsity Red, White, & Black….you might as well drop a dime on it!

Nike Women’s Pocketknife

August 18th, 2008 by Tee

So last Friday I made my rounds around Nike Town to hit up the Nike iD Studio Refresh event, where I made an impromptu departure - and that is definitely another story that will totally blow your mind! But before I left I made my rounds throughout the 5th floo  - as usual to take view of all of the new sneakers that always deem to catch my attention. If you recall I fell in love with the Nike Women’s Fortress Meter last month. This month I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Nike Women’s PocketKnife. It’s satin one-piece styled design is definitely eye catching…and is smooth to the touch. Just like the Women’s Fortress Meter this shoe also features a printed wooden sole, giving it that ultra feminine appeal. I am pretty excited to see if Nike will be bringing fourth more shoes of this style.

Brian Litchenberg

August 13th, 2008 by Tee

Brian Litchenberg….
Let the name etch itself into your skulls for a moment. I’ve been meaning to write an article about this man for like a two weeks now, especially after finding a pair of his stellar spandex leggings after visiting the MOB headquarters. Not only was stumped with the name…..but I was cooing over these glistening silver leggings - like it was no ones business. It was something like an omen for the past week….where I keep bumping into the name Litchenberg, not too common of a name….I don’t think! But either way I am in LOVE with Mr.Brian Litchenberg….second in line to Jeremy Scott of course. Ok, that was dead wrong…but hey I am being honest!

So I found myself making rounds around B.L.’s online store…and I am in DIRE need of copping five items…YES - FIVE ITEMS!!! So while I figure out how I am going to scrape up $780 on lovely Brian Litchenberg garbs….check out my favorite picks after the jump.

Marc By Marc Jacobs Perforated Leather Tote

One of my missions last week was to hit up the Marc by Marc Jacobs store on Bleeker Street. You just got to love that store! Seriously…even on a regular weekday can you find women from all parts of NYC ravaging through tons of affordable goodies. You name it….you’ll find it! Rings from $1 straight back to handbags up to $200. Either way your mission is accomplished if you can manage to snag a few items, with a little bit of patience.
