Have you been outside lately? The New York City tr-state area has been baking up a storm…to the point where you can not even think straight. Over the weekend I found myself literally melting while trooping around the Downtown area…only to find myself standing in front of a cool crisp American Apparel store front. Naturally, I run inside just to take full advantage of the air conditioning, just to relieve myself from the thick summer-like humidity. While ravaging the racks for something else other than my denim jeans that I had been wearing, I found myself griping onto simple black cotton dress. Little did I know that this “simple” black dress would save my life! I’m talking about American Apparel’s Baby Rib Cross-Back Summer Dress…and ladies this dress is definitely a must have - if you are in dire need of having something without all of that embroidered frill that so many retailers are carrying nowadays.

Lately, I have been finding myself bypassing on all of the chunky abstract print found on so many dresses…and please save the floral print for someone who really gives a damn. I love plain pieces…simply because its truly flattering to any body type! Not to mention it takes away from some of our bulging parts….if you know what I mean? This American Apparel Baby Rib Cross-Back Summer Dress features a very subtle and yet sexy cross-back detail - paired against a very comfortable elastic waistband that sits nicely around the bust area. Oh…did I forget to mention that this dress is 100% cotton? Yes…yes.. I know at times cotton tends to wear away during your summer wash load…but I have a nice suggestion! Upon washing this dress…use Woolite, cold water, and keep it in a separate washing machine from the rest of your clothing. The American Apparel Baby Rib Cross-Back Summer Dress comes in seven colorways of black, white, brown, cranberry, lemon, navy, & forest….and I am totally convinced of purchasing a few more pieces to add to my closet.
