It’s on like popcorn over in the Adidas camp!
Throughout the Spring & Summer months, Adidas Originals will be introducing their largest brand campaign [to date], called Celebrate Originality - which is inspired by a rich heritage & the global reach of the Trefoil logo. In part of the‘Celebrate Originality’ campaign, Adidas Originals sounds off 2008 for an open invitation for self-expression and will inspire blue-blooded sneaker heads around the world to celebrate their own originality with a serious of web films which will be released online throughout 2008. Beginning next week, The Superstar film will be released - celebrating the originality of artists from both East & West coasts. The film is entitled, “The Left-Right Project” - which pays homage to the iconic Superstar sneaker. Adidas Originals produced a pair of giant SUV - size replica Superstar sneakers with fire-hose shoe laces which were housed in separate studios. Artists at Surface2Air [NYC] & Upper Playground [San Francisco] were called to celebrate their own originality by customizing these super huge Superstar kicks. East Coast had to rep their originality on the right shoe while the West Coast took their originality onto the left Superstar sneaker. For three days, both coasts went to work and upon completion - both sets of shoes were put on a flat bed truck and both parties set things off in Venice Beach, California. This three minute short film focuses on the act of originality between both the East & West coasts in similarities, differences, inspirations & friendly rivalry. The “Left-Right” project will digitally launch world-wide on April 15th.
